As part of the project, Under the Beating Sun, From Summer to Summer, artist Renée Reizman invites you to participate in a mail-art project by sending letters to, and receiving souvenirs from, places you might never visit.

From June to August, 2019, Reizman will create a physical exchange between two Summerlands using postcards and pictorial postmarks, asking us to think about place-based histories, analog technologies, and visual transmissions. Playing with the idea of commemorations, historic landmarks, and memory, the project encourages us to consider object-oriented relationships to time and place.

To participate in the project, send a Self Addressed Stamped Envelope To:
P.O. Box 1018
Summerland, CA, 93067-1018

Or, stop by Stories Books and Café (Los Angeles, CA) or PLOT (Vancouver, BC) to pick up a pre-stamped envelope & write in your address.

There will be a public lecture and workshop related to this project on July 18th in Vancouver, BC. Details on the event can be found here.
